Findlay Galleries is please to announce its upcoming holiday season-opening exhibition on Saturday, November 27th at Findlay Galleries, Palm Beach. A beautiful and elegant collection of works from contemporary British painter Hugo Grenville will be on view through December.

Hugo Grenville is recognized today as one of Britain’s leading colorist painters. Grenville’s vibrant career began in London in 1974; after 47 years, he continues to successfully explore the endless nuances and magic of color and form. His works are part of several public and private collections in Europe, Asia and the United States. Findlay Galleries has proudly represented Hugo Grenville exclusively since 2008.

Grenville’s work reveals his fascination with pattern and color, a quality that places him within the tradition of Henri Matisse; less evident, but equally important, is the feeling of intimacy in his works, which connects him to Les Nabis, Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard. He refers to himself as a romantic at heart, “My paintings are an unashamed and joyous celebration of life, a passionate defense of beauty and domestic harmony, steeped in the English Romantic tradition. I would like the work to stand as a symbol of promise, and to express our sense of existence through the recognition of the transforming power of color and light.”
